Service Description

## Ride Ready – Student Bike Skills Program Join our **FREE 6-week bike skills program** and help your child build the confidence to ride safely. This program is designed for **Kindergarten to Year 6 students** who are learning to ride, building confidence, or wanting to improve their bike handling and safe riding skills. Each **Friday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm**, starting **Friday 31 July 2026**, students will take part in a fun, practical and supportive riding session during the school afternoon. Over six weeks, children will practise balance, stopping, turning, spacing, scanning, safe riding around others and simple hazard awareness in a calm and encouraging environment. Loan bikes and helmets are available if needed. ### Program Benefits and Outcomes **Build confidence** Students are supported to develop riding skills at their own pace and feel proud of their progress. **Safe riding skills** Students practise practical skills including balance, stopping, turning, scanning, spacing and awareness of others. **Active travel habits** Encourages students to consider walking, cycling and active travel to school. **Health and wellbeing** Promotes physical activity, outdoor fun and confidence through movement. **Independence and life skills** Students develop practical riding skills, confidence and awareness of their surroundings.
