Three ways to experience the river

See the river differently when you travel at cycling pace.

Follow the fish at Wistaria Gardens, share river memories with Cycling Without Age Parramatta, and meander through the

River  mangroves. Each activity celebrates active travel, inclusion, and the connections among people, wildlife, and place.

Weekend in Wistaria

Wistaria Gardens, Parramatta Park

Ride to the festival, leave your bicycle with our team and discover the living river through family-friendly activities.

30-minute family ride

Follow the Fish – Living River Discovery Ride

Begin near the first river crossing at Wistaria Gardens. Discover how fish ladders help native fish travel upstream, watch for water birds and look into the tree canopy for signs of a healthy living river.

Supervised bike valet

Ride to Weekend in Wistaria and leave your bicycle at our monitored valet while you explore the festival.

Bike-safety activities

Learn a simple bicycle safety check, check helmet fit and discover what to carry on a local ride.

Living River discovery

Look into the water, along the riverbank and up into the canopy for signs of a healthy ecosystem.

Join Cycling Without Age Parramatta for a relaxed morning celebrating community, conversation and connection.

Mangrove Meander

Parramatta Bike Hub, Silverwater

Experience the quieter side of the Parramatta River on a gentle social ride through the Silverwater mangrove wetlands.

Mangrove discovery ride

Explore why mangroves matter, how tides shape estuaries and how wetlands support climate resilience.

Birds and wildlife

Slow down, look and listen for the wildlife that depends on this river habitat.

Morning tea at the Bike Hub

Return after the ride to share observations and connect over a relaxed morning tea.
